What to look at before you buy
Match each accessory to your exact console, because the same name can cover different versions. A stand sized for one PS5 model may not fit another, a battery pack for Xbox fits the Series X|S and Xbox One controllers, and the Switch 2 only runs its games from microSD Express cards, not from older microSD cards.
Check whether the accessory is officially licensed. Licensed storage, like PS5 SSDs with a heatsink or the microSD Express cards made for Switch 2, has been made to the console maker's requirements. Unlicensed stands, cases or battery packs can work fine, but then the specs on their own page are what you have to rely on.
Last, think about how you play. Storage is usually the first thing to run out once a few large games are installed, a stand with a controller charger keeps the area tidy, and a hard case protects a handheld on trips. For storage, compare the capacity with the size of the games you actually play.

Do I need an officially licensed SSD for a PS5?
No. Any drive that meets Sony's requirements works, but a licensed one is built for the PS5 and comes with the heatsink fitted, so it goes in without extra parts. An unlicensed drive is fine if it is a PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 drive with suitable cooling, as Sony's storage expansion guide describes.
Does the Switch 2 work with regular microSD cards?
Not for Switch 2 games. Nintendo states that Switch 2 software stored on a card needs a microSD Express card; an older microSD card can still be used to copy screenshots and videos, but it cannot run Switch 2 games. Look for the Express logo on the card before you buy it.
Do I need a charging stand for my controllers?
It is a convenience, not a necessity. A stand charges two controllers at once without cables across the room and keeps them in one place, although the console's own USB ports can do the charging too. If you choose one with cooling fans, check that it fits your exact console model.
