No. As of October 26, 2026, Rockstar has not announced a PC version of Grand Theft Auto VI: its own pages list PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S and a launch date of November 19, 2026. This guide shows what Rockstar has published, how long its last two big games took to reach PC, and which accessories are worth buying now because they work on a console and on a PC.
Where to go next: the monitor, SSD and controller side of playing on a console is in What You Need to Play GTA 6 on PS5, more console gear is in the console accessories guide, and if you are weighing a PC, start with the PC builder, the graphics card guide and the power supply calculator.
What has Rockstar published about GTA VI so far?
Three Rockstar pages cover the platforms and the date, and I read all of them on October 26, 2026: the game page at rockstargames.com/VI, the Newswire post Grand Theft Auto VI is Now Set to Launch November 19, 2026, and the support article Grand Theft Auto VI Platforms, Editions, and Versions, which says it was last updated on August 18, 2026.
| Topic | What Rockstar says | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Platforms | PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S | Game page and support article |
| Launch date | Thursday, November 19, 2026 | Newswire post |
| Editions | Standard Edition and Ultimate Edition | Support article, updated August 18, 2026 |
| PC | Not mentioned | None of the three pages |
"Not mentioned" is not the same as "no". It means Rockstar has said nothing about PC, so there is no date to quote and nothing to plan a purchase around.
How long did GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 take to reach PC?
Rockstar's last two big games reached PC after their first release, and its Newswire has the dates. The gaps in the table are my own count from those dates.
| Game | First release | PC release | Gap (my count) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Grand Theft Auto V | September 17, 2013 | April 14, 2015 | About 19 months |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | October 26, 2018 | November 5, 2019 | About 12 months |
The dates come from four Newswire posts: Grand Theft Auto V Is Coming 9.17.2013, Grand Theft Auto V Is Now Available for PC (dated April 14, 2015), Red Dead Redemption 2 Now Available (October 26, 2018) and Red Dead Redemption 2 Now Available for PC (November 5, 2019).
Two games make a pair, not a rule. Rockstar has not said GTA VI will follow the same path, so neither this guide nor anyone outside Rockstar can give you a PC date. What the table is good for is sizing the wait: in both earlier cases it was a year or longer, not weeks.
Should you wait for a PC version or play on a console?
It depends on what you already own, and on whether you would rather play on the launch date or on a version nobody has announced.
| Your situation | What I would do |
|---|---|
| You only have a PC | Keep playing what you own and buy for the games you play now. With no PC version and no published requirements, there is nothing to check a graphics card against. |
| You have a PS5 or an Xbox Series X|S | Plan for launch day on your console. The accessories below and the PS5 guide cover what is worth preparing. |
| You have both | Choose by where you want to play, not by a PC date nobody has given. Both earlier games waited a year or more. |
One more thing to ignore: any list of GTA VI PC system requirements. The list that counts is the one Rockstar publishes, and as of today there is none, because there is no PC version to list them for. A requirements table anywhere else is a guess, and this site does not check hardware against guesses. If Rockstar posts one, I will add the matching graphics cards and processors from the catalog to this guide.
Which accessories work on a console now and on a PC later?
Three catalog pieces are not tied to one platform, according to the manufacturers' own pages. Sony's pages cover the controllers, Razer's page covers the headset.
| Piece | Works with | Connection | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sony DualSense | PS5; Windows 10 (64-bit) and 11 (Sony) | Bluetooth, USB-C cable included | Fixed sticks, no back buttons |
| Sony DualSense Edge | PS5; Windows 10 (64-bit) and 11 (Sony) | Bluetooth, USB-C | Two back buttons, adjustable trigger stops, replaceable stick modules |
| Razer BlackShark V2 X | PlayStation, Xbox, PC (Razer) | Wired, 3.5 mm | 50 mm drivers, bendable microphone |
The standard DualSense ($60 to $80) is the one to buy if you need a controller and nothing more. Sony's support page says it connects to Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11 over Bluetooth or a USB-C cable, and that haptic feedback on PC requires the USB connection, so the same controller keeps working if you end up on a PC.
The DualSense Edge ($150 to $200) costs more and is worth it only if you will use what it adds. Sony's personalization page describes back buttons you attach, L2 and R2 stops you slide to shorten the trigger travel, and stick modules you can replace if one stops working. It also says the medium and short trigger strokes turn off the trigger effects. If stick wear is what worries you, the stick drift guide compares Hall effect, TMR and potentiometer sensors.
The Razer BlackShark V2 X ($25 to $40) is a wired headset that follows you between platforms. Razer's page lists it as working with PlayStation, Xbox, PC and other devices with a 3.5 mm jack, and lists its Windows Sonic spatial audio for Xbox and Windows 10 and 11, not for PlayStation. For other headsets, the headset guide compares five.
For the monitor and the SSD, the two pieces where Sony publishes written conditions, use the PS5 guide: it sets three monitors and two SSDs against Sony's own requirements.
My verdict on waiting for GTA VI on PC
No PC version has been announced, the two earlier Rockstar games took a year or more to reach PC, and the purchases that make sense today do not depend on the answer. If you play on a PC, do not upgrade for GTA VI; if you play on a console, prepare for November 19 with the pieces above. I will update this guide if Rockstar announces a PC version or changes the date.
Frequently asked questions about GTA 6 on PC
Has Rockstar announced a PC version of GTA 6?
No. Rockstar's game page and its platforms and editions support article name PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, and none of the three Rockstar pages I read on October 26, 2026 mentions PC.
Which platforms will GTA 6 launch on?
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a launch date of Thursday, November 19, 2026, according to Rockstar's game page and its Newswire post.
Are there GTA 6 PC system requirements?
No, because Rockstar has not announced a PC version, so it has not published requirements. Any list you find elsewhere is not from Rockstar, and I would not buy hardware against it.
Can I use a PS5 controller on a PC?
Yes: Sony says the DualSense works on Windows 10 (64-bit) and Windows 11 over Bluetooth or a USB-C cable, and that haptic feedback on PC needs the USB connection. The DualSense Edge page says the same for the Edge, with some features unavailable over Bluetooth.
How long did GTA V take to reach PC?
About 19 months by my count: Rockstar's Newswire gives September 17, 2013 for the first release and April 14, 2015 for the PC version. Red Dead Redemption 2 took about 12 months, from October 26, 2018 to November 5, 2019.
How we choose
Nobody at this site played GTA VI, and nobody outside Rockstar has. Everything about the game comes from Rockstar's own pages, read on October 26, 2026. The controller facts come from Sony's support pages and the headset facts from Razer's page, and the catalog listings were checked against them. The accessory list keeps to pieces in the catalog with a written analysis, compares what manufacturers publish rather than reviews, and does not rank anything by what it earns.
