Our verdict
A 27-inch QD-OLED at 4K and 240 Hz: about 163 pixels per inch with a high refresh rate. You need a powerful GPU to push 4K at high refresh; without one, a QHD OLED makes more sense.
Our analysis
The MSI MAG 271QPX puts the same kind of 27-inch QD-OLED panel at 2560 × 1440 and pushes it to 360 Hz; the Odyssey G8 (G81SF) goes to 3840 × 2160 and stops at 240 Hz. That is the trade: about 163 pixels per inch here against 109 on the QHD panel, for players who already own a powerful graphics card, or are about to.
What stands out
- 3840 × 2160 on 27 inches. About 163 pixels per inch, so text and fine detail are sharper than on a 27-inch QHD screen.
- 240 Hz with a 0.03 ms response time. Samsung's figures, so you keep a high refresh rate at 4K.
- QD-OLED with 99% DCI-P3 and DisplayHDR True Black 400. Each pixel switches off on its own for black, with a wide color gamut.
- FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible, plus height adjustment. Variable refresh on AMD and NVIDIA cards, and a stand that adapts to your desk.
Where it falls short
- It asks for a high-end graphics card. 4K is more than twice the pixels of 1440p, so on a mid-range card you will be lowering settings.
- Brightness is rated at 250 nits, below the 275 of the LG UltraGear 27GX704A.
- Like any OLED, it is not the right screen for static work windows all day.
Look elsewhere if
- Your GPU is mid-range: the MSI MAG 274QP keeps QD-OLED and 240 Hz at 2560 × 1440, a resolution sized for an RTX 5060 Ti. The LG UltraGear 27GX704A is the other QHD 240 Hz OLED route, with a little more rated brightness.
We explain which resolution fits your card in 1080p, 1440p or 4K in 2026, and we rank it in the 5 best gaming monitors of 2026.
