MSI MAG 274QP QD-OLED X24 - WQHD 240Hz QD-OLED Gaming Monitor

Our analysis

The Samsung Odyssey G8 (G81SF) uses the same kind of panel, QD-OLED at 240 Hz and 0.03 ms with 99% DCI-P3, but at 3840 × 2160. This one runs 2560 × 1440, under half the pixels, and that is what puts it within reach of an RTX 5060 Ti or an RX 9060 XT at high frame rates. It is a 27-inch class panel (26.5 inches viewable) and our balanced 1440p pick.

What stands out

• QD-OLED with 99% DCI-P3. Each pixel switches off on its own, so black is black and dark scenes keep their detail; MSI rates the color gamut at 99% DCI-P3.
• 240 Hz with a 0.03 ms response time. Both figures are MSI's, and OLED pixels change state far faster than an LCD's liquid crystal.
• 2560 × 1440. A step up from 1080p without needing a top-end graphics card to feed it.
• Practical connections and stand. DisplayPort 1.4a, two HDMI 2.1 ports so a PC and a console can share it, height adjustment and a 100 mm VESA mount for a monitor arm.

Where it falls short

• Like any OLED, it can wear with static content: if the screen spends all day on work windows, it is the wrong choice. Turn on a screen saver and auto-hide the taskbar.
• MSI's listing in our ficha gives no brightness figure, so we cannot put one next to the LG's 275 nits.

Look elsewhere if

• You want a published brightness figure: the LG UltraGear 27GX704A is also QHD at 240 Hz and is rated at 275 nits, with 98.5% DCI-P3. If you play shooters and your GPU can hold very high frame rates, the MSI MAG 271QPX takes the same resolution to 360 Hz.

We explain why 1440p is the sweet spot in 1080p, 1440p or 4K in 2026, and we put it next to the rest in the 5 best gaming monitors of 2026.
