The tower is there from the start: pick each component and see where it sits inside the case. Then add whatever you want from the room — monitor, chair, lighting, audio — and the setup builds itself in 3D alongside you.
Five checks you can do on paper, and nothing it cannot back up
| Part | What the builder checks |
|---|---|
| Processor | Its socket against the motherboard's. |
| Motherboard | Socket, memory type, and its form factor against the case. |
| Memory | DDR4 or DDR5, against what the motherboard takes. |
| Graphics card | Its power draw goes into the power supply math. Its length is checked in Will it fit? |
| Power supply | Its watts against processor + graphics card + 100 W for the rest of the PC, with a 30% margin, rounded up to a PSU size you can buy and never below what the graphics card maker asks for. |
| Case | The motherboard sizes it takes. Clearances are checked in Will it fit? |
| Cooling | Not its height here: that is checked in Will it fit? |
| Storage | In a tower, M.2 2280. The short 2230 drives from handheld consoles get flagged. |
When a spec sheet is missing the data, the check stays gray and says what is missing. It never turns green by default.
No. That has to be measured with the parts in hand, and we have not done it. The builder only says whether the parts fit together physically and electrically, because that is arithmetic, not opinion.
It adds the official power figure of the processor (Intel: Maximum Turbo Power; AMD: TDP) and of the graphics card, 100 W for the rest of the PC and a 30% margin. Then it rounds up to a PSU size you can buy and never goes below what NVIDIA, AMD or Intel asks for. Same method as our PSU calculator, with one extra: if the brand of your exact card asks for a bigger PSU, we go with the brand.
Not here: the millimeters of the graphics card and the cooler are checked in Will it fit?, with the clearances each maker publishes.
Each part has its own Amazon link. Open them one by one: every link is a paid link (we earn a commission) and opens that part on Amazon.
