Our verdict

Our price-to-performance pick for 2026: an RTX 5060 with DLSS 4 and Multi Frame Generation, a Ryzen 7 250 and 16 GB of RAM. The 512 GB SSD fills fast, so budget for a second drive.

Our analysis

Twice the memory of the ASUS TUF Gaming F16, 16 GB against 8, and a newer GPU generation: an RTX 5060 Laptop with DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation, which NVIDIA keeps for its RTX 50 cards, against the TUF's RTX 4050 Laptop. The ASUS answers with a slightly taller 16-inch 1920 x 1200 screen at the same 144 Hz.

What stands out

  • RTX 5060 Laptop with DLSS 4. Multi Frame Generation in the games that support it, the RTX 50 feature the 4050 does not have.
  • 16 GB of RAM and a Ryzen 7 250. Twice the 8 GB of the TUF F16 and the HP Victus 15 in our catalog.
  • 15.6-inch Full HD IPS at 144 Hz. The same refresh rate as the TUF F16, on a 16:9 panel.

Where it falls short

The 512 GB SSD fills after a few large games, so budget for a second drive, ideally 2 TB. At 2.4 kg, per Lenovo, it is also a lot to carry every day; the 14-inch Zephyrus G14 below is the portable option.

Look elsewhere if

You care most about the screen: the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16 OLED keeps an RTX 5060 but moves to a 16-inch 2560 x 1600 OLED at 165 Hz, with 1 TB of storage. If you need serious power in a bag, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 packs an RTX 5080 into a 14-inch chassis.

It leads our five best gaming laptops of 2026, and our laptop or desktop guide puts it next to a tower with the same GPU family, part by part.
