Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 10 16 OLED gaming laptop, front view

Our verdict

The 16-inch OLED of the laptops we recommend: 2560 x 1600 at 165 Hz, paired with an RTX 5060 and a Ryzen 7. Choose it if you game and also edit photo or video; if you only play, the LOQ 15 gets the same GPU for less.

Our analysis

Put it next to the ASUS TUF Gaming F16, the other 16-inch laptop in our catalog, and every line moves up one step: an RTX 5060 Laptop against an RTX 4050, 16 GB against 8, 1 TB against 512 GB, and a 2560 x 1600 OLED at 165 Hz against a 1920 x 1200 panel at 144 Hz. The TUF is the budget way into a 16-inch screen; the Legion is the one where the screen is the reason to buy.

What stands out

  • A 2560 x 1600 OLED at 165 Hz. More pixels and a higher refresh rate than the 1920 x 1080 144 Hz panel of the LOQ 15, with OLED's per-pixel lighting.
  • 1100 nits of HDR peak brightness, per Lenovo. Room for highlights in HDR content, and a panel suited to photo and video work as well as games.
  • An 8-core Ryzen 7 8745HX, 16 GB and 1 TB. Twice the 512 GB of storage the LOQ 15 ships with.
  • Wi-Fi 7, Harman audio and an RGB keyboard. Extras for a machine that also works for study or work.

Where it falls short

  • You are not buying more frames: the GPU is the same RTX 5060 Laptop as the LOQ 15, which costs less.
  • At 2.3 kg with a 16-inch screen, it is a desk-first laptop rather than one to carry every day.

Look elsewhere if

  • You only play: the Lenovo LOQ 15 gets the same RTX 5060 with a 15.6-inch 144 Hz Full HD panel for less. If you need more power in a smaller body, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 pairs an RTX 5080 laptop GPU, 32 GB of RAM and a 3K OLED in a 14-inch chassis.
