Lenovo Legion Gaming XL Cloth Mouse Pad - Anti-Fray, Water Repellent

Our analysis

Measure your desk before choosing between this pad and the Logitech G840 XL: both are 900 mm wide, but the Legion is 300 mm deep and the G840 XL is 400 mm. Those 100 mm decide whether the pad fits in front of a shallow desk or under a keyboard and a long arm swipe at the same time. The G840 XL is the control-leaning cloth of the two; Lenovo describes the Legion as a balance of speed and control.

What stands out

• Braided, stitched edges. Lenovo lists a braided locked edge, the kind of edge built to resist fraying where a keyboard rubs.
• Water-repellent microfiber. Lenovo describes the cloth as water repellent, so a spill sits on the surface instead of soaking straight in.
• A glide between speed and control. That is how Lenovo's own spec sheet describes it.
• Non-slip rubber base. Rubber underneath holds the pad to the desk.

Where it falls short

• At 300 mm deep it is shallower than the 400 mm XXL pads, so check that your keyboard and your mouse swing both fit.
• No RGB, if you care about the look of the desk.

Look elsewhere if

• You want more depth for low-sensitivity aiming: the SteelSeries QcK XXL measures 900 x 400 mm in a micro-woven cloth. If the look of the desk matters as much as the glide, the BladeHawks RGB XL adds 14 lighting modes powered from a single USB port.
