BladeHawks RGB XL Gaming Mouse Pad, front view

Our verdict

A lit desk from one USB port: 14 RGB modes, a diffused glowing edge and a water-resistant cloth top on 800 × 300 mm. Pick it for the look; if you want more surface, the QcK XXL gives you 900 × 400 mm.

Our analysis

Next to the Razer Gigantus V2 XXL, this pad gives up a lot of surface, 800 × 300 mm against 940 × 410 mm, and gets lights in return: 14 RGB modes along a diffused edge, powered from one USB port. The Razer is the one for room and 4 mm of foam under the wrist; the BladeHawks is for a desk that glows.

What stands out

  • 14 modes from one USB port. You switch them with a button on the cable, with no software to install and nothing running in the background.
  • Diffused edge lighting. The LEDs sit under the edge, so the light spreads along it instead of showing as a row of dots.
  • 800 × 300 mm. Long enough for keyboard and mouse side by side, so the lit edge frames the whole setup.
  • Water-resistant cloth on a natural rubber base. The listing pairs a micro-textured top that repels spills with an anti-slip base.

Where it falls short

  • The listing is about the lights: BladeHawks gives no thickness and nothing about the surface beyond its texture. If aim is the only reason you are buying a pad, choose one from a brand that publishes more.
  • The lights need their own USB cable running to the PC, one more wire to route behind the desk.
  • At 300 mm deep it is shallower than the 400 mm of the QcK XXL, so there is less room for vertical mouse movement.

Look elsewhere if

  • You want the most room for low-sensitivity aim: the SteelSeries QcK XXL is 900 × 400 mm with no lights. If you want a big branded pad with no extra cable, the Lenovo Legion Gaming XL adds locked edges that do not fray and a water-repellent top.

We put it against four other large pads in our XL mouse pad comparison, where it is the pick for a lit-up desk.
