Our verdict
Our top pick for streaming and podcasts: a dynamic cardioid mic with USB and XLR, a zero-latency headphone jack and onboard processing. For Discord chat, the FIFINE AM8 covers the same USB plus XLR idea; this one is for people who stream seriously every week.
Our analysis
The Logitech G Yeti GX is a dynamic USB-C mic too, with a narrower supercardioid pattern, but it stops at USB and lists no headphone monitoring; the MV7+ is cardioid and adds an XLR output and a zero-latency headphone jack. It is our top streaming and podcast microphone, built for people whose voice is the product: podcasts, interviews, talk streams, paid voice work.
What stands out
- Dynamic capsule. A dynamic capsule is less sensitive than a condenser and works close to your mouth, so it picks up less of the fan, the keyboard and the rest of the house.
- USB-C and XLR in one body. You start with a single cable to the PC and keep the same mic if you ever move to an interface, instead of buying twice.
- Onboard processing. Shure lists auto level, a real-time denoiser and a digital pop filter, configured over USB in MOTIV Mix.
- Zero-latency headphone jack. You hear yourself live without delay, which helps you hold a steady distance and volume.
Where it falls short
- For chatting on Discord with friends, the FIFINE AM8 covers the same USB plus XLR idea.
- Going XLR means adding an audio interface and a cable; the box does not cover that chain.
- No stand comes in the box, so plan on a boom arm; Shure's guide for the original MV7 asks you to speak 1 to 6 inches from the capsule.
Look elsewhere if
- You want a dynamic capsule with USB and XLR on a budget: the FIFINE AM8 is the pick, with tap-to-mute included. If your stream is mostly game with some commentary, the Elgato Wave:3 MK.2 and its Wave Link mixer make more sense.
We rank it in the 5 best streaming microphones of 2026 and place it inside a full build in our pro streaming setup guide.
