Our verdict
The premium tier: active noise cancelling, two swappable batteries so you swap instead of waiting, and a base station that works as a DAC for PC and console. For people who live in their headset across games, music and calls; for gaming alone, it is a luxury.
Our analysis
Both this and the Logitech G ASTRO A50 Gen 5 are built around a base station, and they solve battery in opposite ways: the A50 charges when you set it on its base, while the Nova Pro Omni uses two swappable batteries, one charging in the base while the other runs. SteelSeries adds active noise cancelling on top. It is our premium headset pick, meant for people who wear a headset most of the day across games, music and calls.
What stands out
- Two swappable batteries. You swap in a fresh one instead of plugging the headset in, so battery life stops being something you plan your day around.
- Active noise cancelling. It reduces outside noise, handy in a noisy household or when you want music without distractions.
- A DAC base station. It serves both PC and console, with three USB inputs and a line-in, and lets you adjust the sound on the fly.
- 2.4 GHz plus Bluetooth, and a ClearCast Pro mic. 2.4 GHz for games, Bluetooth for your phone, and AI noise rejection on the mic, per SteelSeries.
Where it falls short
- If all you do is game, much of what you pay for, like ANC, Bluetooth and the DAC base, serves music and calls as much as matches.
- At 339 g it is heavier than lightweight models like the 236 g G535.
Look elsewhere if
- You hate charging but do not need noise cancelling: the HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless lasts up to 300 hours per charge and adds DTS Headphone:X surround. If weight on your head matters most, the Logitech G535 weighs 236 g, though its 33-hour battery means charging every few days.
We compare it with the rest of the field in the 5 best gaming headsets of 2026, where it holds the premium spot.
