Razer Viper V4 Pro - Wireless Esports Gaming Mouse

Our analysis

Both this and the Logitech PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE poll at 8000 Hz without a cable, so the spec that separates them is battery: Razer rates the Viper V4 Pro at up to 180 hours, Logitech rates the X2 at 90. The sensors differ too, Razer's Focus Pro 50K Gen-3 against Logitech's HERO 2 at 44000 DPI. The Viper weighs about 49 g and has nothing extra: it is built for competitive players in games like Valorant, CS2 or Apex.

What stands out

• About 49 g. Lighter than the 60 g Superlight 2, so there is less mass to move on every flick.
• Up to 180 hours of battery. At six hours a day, that is about a month between charges.
• 8000 Hz over HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2. The mouse reports its position up to 8000 times per second over the dongle, with nothing dragging on the pad.
• Fourth-gen optical switches rated for 100 million clicks. Razer's rating, for a mouse meant to be used hard every day.

Where it falls short

• There is no RGB and no extra buttons by design, so if you want programmable side controls for macros or lighting to match your setup, this mouse will not give you that.
• Its symmetrical shape is neutral, but whether it suits your hand better than a rival's is personal.

Look elsewhere if

• You want buttons and lights: the Logitech G502 X Plus brings 13 programmable controls and LIGHTSYNC RGB for MMOs, MOBAs and productivity. If you are choosing between competitive picks, the Logitech G PRO X Superlight 2 has a HERO 2 sensor at 60 g; pick by the shape that fits your hand.

It is our esports pick in our comparison of the best gaming mice, and you can put its specs next to any rival in the comparison tool.
