Logitech G502 X Plus wireless gaming mouse, black

Our verdict

The mouse with a button for everything: 13 programmable controls, infinite scroll, LIGHTSYNC RGB and hybrid switches, ideal for MMOs, MOBAs and productivity. At 106 g and right-handed only, it is the wrong shape for fast competitive flicks.

Our analysis

The Razer Viper V4 Pro strips a mouse down to about 49 g and six buttons; the G502 X Plus goes the other way, 106 g with 13 programmable controls, infinite scroll and LIGHTSYNC RGB in a right-handed ergonomic body. It is built for MMOs, MOBAs, productivity and casual shooters, where having a button for everything matters more than shaving grams.

What stands out

  • 13 programmable controls. Map potions, macros, builds or editing shortcuts to the mouse and keep your other hand free for movement.
  • Infinite scroll. Long documents, inventories and timelines go by with one flick of the wheel.
  • HERO 44K sensor and hybrid optical-mechanical switches. Logitech now rates it up to 44000 DPI, and mice sold before the change get it free through G HUB.
  • LIGHTSPEED wireless with up to 130 hours of battery (RGB off). A cable-free desk for long stretches, USB-C when it needs a charge, and RGB that reacts to your game.

Where it falls short

  • At 106 g it is much heavier than the esports mice next to it (the Superlight 2 is 60 g), so fast competitive flicks take more effort.
  • The shape is right-handed only, so left-handed players are out.

Look elsewhere if

  • Shooters are your main game: the Logitech G PRO X Superlight 2 weighs 60 g and has a symmetrical shape. If you want an entry wireless Logitech and can live with six buttons, the G305 Lightspeed runs 250 hours on one AA battery.
