Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB (2x16) 6000MHz CL36

Our analysis

Corsair's own Vengeance LPX DDR4 32GB is the same capacity for DDR4 boards at 3200 MT/s CL16; this DDR5 kit runs two 16 GB sticks at 6000 MHz CL36, the speed AMD recommends for Ryzen. It is the RAM we default to in our value build, for any AM5 or other DDR5 gaming PC that wants 32 GB without paying for lighting.

What stands out

• 32 GB. The capacity our RAM guide sets as the gaming target now, with room for a game, Chrome and Discord open together.
• EXPO and XMP profiles. One setting in the BIOS applies the rated speed on AMD or Intel boards, with no manual tuning.
• Two 16 GB sticks. On a four-slot board that leaves two slots open if you ever need more memory for work.
• Low-profile 35 mm heatspreader, no RGB. It stays out of the way of large air coolers, for builds where looks are not the point.

Where it falls short

• If you do not enable EXPO in the BIOS, it runs slower than the speed printed on the box.
• It is DDR5 only, so it will not go into a DDR4 board, and there are no lights.

Look elsewhere if

• Your PC is an AM4 or LGA1200 system on DDR4: the G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB at 3200 CL16 is the right upgrade. If you want the same 32 GB at 6000 MHz CL36 with RGB, the G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB fits the bill, though its tall heatspreader needs clearance under a big air cooler.

We break down the 16 vs 32 GB decision in how much RAM you need for gaming, and this kit is the one inside our best value gaming PC build.
