ARCTIC Case Fan Hub, 10-port PWM front view

Our verdict

The part that keeps a daisy chain of fans from overloading a motherboard header: ten PWM outputs fed straight from the power supply, with rpm still reported to the BIOS on the first port. Buy it if you run more than three or four fans.

Our analysis

The ARCTIC P14 Pro PST five-pack chains its fans so one motherboard header sets their speed, and that header also carries their current. This hub keeps the single speed signal for up to ten fans but takes the power from a SATA connector rated at 4.5 A, straight from the power supply. It exists because chaining fans onto one header can ask for more current than the long-standing 1 A header standard; past three or four fans, it earns its place in the build.

What stands out

  • SATA power rated up to 4.5 A. The current comes from the power supply and the motherboard only sends the speed signal, so the header no longer carries the load.
  • Ten 4-pin PWM outputs at up to 1 A each. One header still sets the speed of all ten, so a single fan curve in the BIOS runs the whole case.
  • RPM reporting kept. The first port sends its speed back to the BIOS, so you can still confirm the fans are spinning.
  • Mounts almost anywhere. Adhesive pads and magnetic strips come in the box, so it can hide behind the motherboard tray.

Where it falls short

  • Only the first port reports rpm, so the BIOS reads one fan as a stand-in for the rest.
  • There is no RGB on it, so lighting still needs its own controller or header.
  • With three fans or fewer, it is a part you simply do not need.

Look elsewhere if

You want to skip the hub and your board's headers are weak: the ARCTIC P12 PWM PST draws only 0.1 A per fan, so a chain of five stays at 0.5 A. If you are buying the stronger ARCTIC P12 Pro PST five-pack instead, plan on this hub: at 0.33 A per fan, five chained reach 1.65 A on paper, and the startup surge goes higher still.
