Redragon K580 VATA full-size mechanical keyboard with macro keys

Our verdict

Full size with everything: numpad, dedicated macro keys and media controls with a volume wheel, for MMOs and productivity. The switches are clicky blues that a mic can pick up, so skip it if you stream or share a room.

Our analysis

The ASUS ROG Strix Scope II 96 Wireless also keeps the numpad and swappable switches, but fits them into a 96% that connects over 2.4 GHz or Bluetooth with linear switches; the K580 VATA is a 104-key full-size board on a USB-C cable, with clicky Outemu Blue switches, five dedicated macro keys and a volume wheel. It is built for MMO players, people who work with numbers and anyone who refuses to give up the numpad.

What stands out

  • Five dedicated macro keys. In an MMO you can bind ability chains or common commands to their own keys instead of juggling combinations, and the same keys speed up repetitive work.
  • Media controls with a volume wheel. You adjust the sound or pause music without leaving the game or opening a menu.
  • A full 100% layout with numpad. Data entry, spreadsheets and numeric binds stay one keystroke away.
  • Hot-swappable switches, RGB and a USB-C cable. Hot-swap means the switches are not soldered in, so you can change them later.

Where it falls short

  • The switches are Outemu Blue, which are clicky, and a mic can pick up that click, so it is a poor match if you stream or share a room.
  • A full-size board takes the most width on the desk. A 60% frees roughly six inches, which is space a low-sensitivity mouse swing would use.

Look elsewhere if

  • You share a room or stream and can live without the numpad: the Redragon K552 Kumara is an 87-key TKL with red linear switches and a metal top plate. If mouse space matters more than extra keys, the Redragon K617 Fizz is a 60% with red linear switches and 3- and 5-pin hot-swap.
