Corsair RM650e 650W Cybenetics Gold Modular

Our analysis

It shares its 140 mm body, 120 mm fan and 7-year warranty with the Corsair RM850e, but sits two grades higher for noise, Cybenetics A++ against A, and stops 200 W lower. The RM650e is for a gaming PC with one mid-range graphics card where a quiet build matters: it covers the 450 to 550 W results our power supply calculator gives for builds like a Ryzen 5 9600X with a Radeon RX 9060 XT.

What stands out

• Cybenetics A++ for noise. That is two grades above the A of the RM750e, and the 120 mm rifle bearing fan has a zero RPM mode, so it can stay off at low load.
• Cybenetics Gold and ATX 3.1. Corsair lists up to 89% efficiency and formal ATX 3.1 certification.
• Native 12V-2x6 plus 8-pin options. One 12V-2x6 cable, one 12V-2x6 to dual 8-pin cable and one more 8-pin PCIe cable, so either type of card connector works.
• 7-year warranty in a 140 mm body. The same length as the rest of the RMe family, so check your case once for any of them.

Where it falls short

• 650 W is the ceiling: NVIDIA asks for 750 W with an RTX 5070 Ti.
• It ships with one EPS (4+4) cable that carries two connectors; the RM750e has two separate EPS cables.

Look elsewhere if

• The Corsair RM750e costs the same or less on the day you buy: 100 W more headroom and two EPS cables.
• You want a bigger 135 mm fan: the MSI MAG A650GLS PCIE5 uses one, with 80 Plus Gold and ATX 3.1.
