ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 A-RGB, front view

Our verdict

The cooler for a Ryzen 9 or a K-series Core i7/i9: a thick 360 mm radiator and a VRM fan that also cools the motherboard's power delivery. Under about 150 W it is headroom you will not use.

Our analysis

Against the Thermalright Frozen Notte 240, it adds a third 120 mm fan and 120 mm of radiator, 360 against 240, plus a small VRM fan on the pump block that blows over the motherboard's power delivery. It is what we would pair with a Ryzen 9, or with a Core i7 or i9 from the K series: a 360 mm all-in-one with three P12 Pro fans.

What stands out

  • VRM fan on the pump. It blows over the motherboard's power delivery, not only the processor, which matters most with an i9 or an overclock.
  • Thick radiator. More radiator lets the fans spin slower for the same heat load.
  • Room for hungry chips. Our cooler guide notes K-series Intel processors can climb to 180 W in turbo; this is the tier we size for that load.
  • Current sockets. AM4, AM5, LGA1700 and LGA1851 are all supported, so it can follow you to a newer Intel platform.

Where it falls short

  • Under roughly 150 W, the extra capacity just sits idle. A Ryzen 5, a Core i5 or an X3D chip does not need it.
  • Your case must take a 360 mm radiator. Check the mount first.
  • Like any liquid cooler it relies on a pump, a part an air tower does not have.
